The Lakeland women's basketball team fell to 5-4 with a 64-39 loss to Beloit College in non-conference hoops action at Beloit on Saturday afternoon.
Beloit jumped out to an early lead 7-0 and never looked back. The Buccaneers led the Muskies going into the locker room 29-13 and would lead by as many as 27 points in the second half of the contest.
"They were just the better team tonight," said Lakeland head coach April Arvan. "We've seen better teams and we've seen worse teams. We just couldn't get the ball in the hoop tonight."
Senior Jenna Boehm led the Muskies with 10 points and six rebounds. Senior Danielle Duranceau added five points and led the team in rebounding with seven, while freshman Megan Chart also had five points.
Beloit held Lakeland to 16% shooting from the field in the first half and to 30% for the game.
Lakeland will return to play at home on Wednesday, Jan. 3rd for a Northern Athletics Conference match-up against Concordia University Wisconsin. Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m.
