Nick Zeck’s double-double propelled the Lakeland men’s basketball team to a 79-58 win over Maranatha Baptist on Saturday afternoon.
Zeck scored a season high 30 points to go along with 14 rebounds to help the Muskies secure a home game in the first round of the Lake Michigan Conference tournament.
Nick Howard came off the bench to score 14 points for the Muskies, who shot 53 percent from the field in the game.
Lakeland went on a 10-0 run to start the game, but the Crusaders came back to keep it close until the Muskies finished the half on a 12-4 run to make it 40-27 at the break.
Jim Bonner led Maranatha with 19 points.
The win was Lakeland’s seventh in their last nine games, a stretch that has improved their record to 7-5 in the LMC and 12-11 overall.
The Muskies will travel to Northland Baptist on Monday in their final regular season game. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
