The Muskies (1-9, 9-5 NAC) and Falcons (6-14, 5-8 NAC) traded the lead four times apiece in the first half. However, it was the Muskies who would come out with the 36-35 advantage at the break.

In the second half, the Muskies and Falcons again traded the lead several times until the Muskies pulled ahead for good with 3:37 left in the contest.

Four other Muskies scored in double digits in addition to Regal, as sophomore Matt Rogers had 22 points, six boards and two assists, while junior Shane Grube added 16 points and a pair of assists. Junior Kris Saiberlich had 12 points and a game-high five assists. The five assists tied his career high, which he first reached against Illinois Institute of Technology on Dec. 14, 2004. Junior Danny Ehnert added 10 points and led the Muskies on the glass with nine rebounds. Eight of those rebounds came in the first half of the contest.

"Matt (Rogers) got into foul trouble early and sat out much of the first half," said Lakeland head coach Kyle Brumett. "He had big second half though. He scored 20 points, had five rebounds and a couple of assists."

"Danny's (Ehnert) eight rebounds in the first half were a huge help to us," added Brumett. "Aaron (Regal) really stepped up for us going 11-12 from the free-throw line. Dave Hoerres went 2-2 from the free throw line. Two points may not seem like a lot, but when you lose by three points those two points really make a difference. It was once again a complete team effort with several people contributing tonight."

Five Falcons also reached double digits, as Steve Huenink led the Falcons with 19 points and DeShawn Robinson added 17 points. Josh Atkinson and John Ulrich both had 16 points, while Travis Moulton added 14 points in the loss.

The Muskies return home to play on Wednesday against NAC foe Benedictine. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
