The No. 30 Lakeland College wrestling team won 28 matches Saturday, giving up 12 total points in victories over Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Maranatha, and Weaton at the MSOE Duals in Milwaukee.
Nine wrestlers compiled perfect records for the Muskies. David Copp (125), Rob Frias (133), Kory Theil (141), Isaac Roberflokson (149), Jonas Flok (157), Jake Frias (165), J.D. Sylvanus (184), Everett Wood (197), and Adam Sutter (285) all went undefeated on the day.
"We had the best day possible," Lakeland head coach Pete Rogers said. "I was impressed with everyone and we wrestled our hearts out.
In the Muskies' first match 59-0 victory over Maranatha, six of seven Muskie wrestlers recorded falls. David Copp, the lone Muskie to not pin his opponent, defeated Ryan Hardy in a technical fall 21-5. Nick Doerflinger, bumping from 197 to 285, stepped up in his first varsity match, pinning Matt Thompson at 4:15.
Against UW-Oshkosh, Muskies were victorious in nine of 10 matches, defeating the Titans 30-6. Isaac Roberson knocked off Morgan Sickinger 17-8 in a major decision. Everett Wood took down Matt Halpert late in overtime to take a 6-4 victory in one of the most exciting Muskie matches of the day. Adam Sutter wrapped up the 30-6 win with a fall over Eric Allen at 1:09.
Against Wheaton, the Muskies finished the day with a convincing 43-6 win. Copp earned his second tech fall of the day in the first match of the dual. Rob Frias recorded his second fall of the day, pinning Jon Sbraccia in 2:59. The only loss of the dual came when Josh DeLuca injured his ankle and was forced to forfeit.
