Heinemeyer, a wide receiver, is one of 90 players selected to represent the 238 Division III football programs in a North vs. South all-star game conducted by the Collegiate Development Football League.
"This is a big honor. They only pick 45 per team, so I'm very excited about it," Heinemeyer said. "This is a chance to play in one more game. I've played in all-star games before but nothing of this magnitude."
Headed into this weekend's regular season finale, Heinemeyer has 96 total receptions for 1,693 yards and 15 touchdowns, and he has rushed for 270 yards and two touchdowns. In addition, he has been one of the Muskies top return threats, amassing 1,155 kick return yards with one returned for a touchdown and 827 punt return yards with two scores.
He is tied for the team lead in touchdown receptions this season with nine and has set a career-high in both receptions (46) and yards (733).
"We're really proud of Jake," Lakeland head coach Kevin Doherty said. "It's a great honor for him to be selected for this game. He's been a valuable part of our program because we can use him in so many different ways. He is a solid three-year starter and two-year team captain who does everything we ask of him on and off the field."
