Junior Ryan Renon placed first at the 165-pound weight class and led the Lakeland College wrestling team to a fifth place finish at the Milwaukee School of Engineering Invitational Saturday in Milwaukee, Wis.

The Muskies finished fifth out of 11 schools with 68 points and had four place winners in a competitive field.
Renon (Wrightstown) used two major decisions, a fall and a technical fall to take 165. He earned a 13-4 major decision over Aaron Konitzer of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in the championship match and improved his season record to 12-1.

Senior Robby Frias (Oak Lawn, Ill.) and sophomores Brent Steudel (Hortonville) and Grant Franson (Lindenhurst, Ill.) placed fourth at 149, 157 and 125, respectively. Frias and Steudel lost to the eventual 149 and 157 champions in the semi-final match.

The Muskies return to the mats on Dec. 8 as they host Elmhurst College for a 7 p.m. dual.
