Parker and Renon earn decisions as grapplers fall to No. 12-ranked Elmhurst

Junior Ryan Renon and sophomore James Parker recorded victories, but the Lakeland College wrestling team fell to No. 12-ranked Elmhurst College, 41-9 Thursday night in the Wehr Center Fieldhouse.

Parker (Milwaukee), who competed in his first dual match of the season, led the Muskies (1-2) with a pin fall over Jake Denhof in 1:42 at the 141-pound weight class. Renon (Wrightstown) increased his season tally to 13-1 with a hard-fought, 9-7 decision over Yousef Al-Ghoul at 165.

The Bluejays recorded three pins and five major decisions to take the non-conference dual.

The grapplers return to the mats on Saturday as they travel to Naperville, Ill., to participate in the North Central Invite.
