Muskies of the Week: Tarrel Jackson and Broc Lawry

Freshmen Tarrel Jackson and Broc Lawry have been named the college's Muskies of the Week for their individual performances last week. Read about their performances below.

Tarrel Jackson

Freshman Tarrel Jackson led the Lakeland College football team to a 33-7 win over Maranatha Baptist Bible College on Saturday afternoon.

The Detroit, Mich., native led the Muskies in rushing with 124 yards on 11 carries, averaging 11.3 yards per rush. He also scored two touchdowns to lead a noteworthy day as Lakeland had two running backs surpass the 100-yard plateau in the same game for the first time since 2005.

The 5-foot-7 running back leads the team in rushing with 393 yards on 109 attempts. He is averaging 3.6 yards per carry and 43.7 per game. He has also rushed for three TDs.

Jackson is majoring in criminal justice.

Broc Lawry

Freshman Broc Lawry has solidified the kicking game for the Muskies.

The Ishpeming, Mich., native recorded a career high four extra points and registered his first career field goal, a 25-yarder before halftime.

The 5-foot-10 kicker has converted 11 of 17 PAT's this season and been a great find for Lakeland. He also won NAC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance.

Lawry is majoring in computer science with a minor in sports studies.
