SHEBOYGAN - Wisconsin Lutheran College defeated the Lakeland College women's golf team in a pair of dual matches held this weekend at home courses for both schools.
The Warriors won Saturday's meet at Currie Park Golf Course in Wauwatosa, shooting a score of 451 to the Muskies' 552. WLC also won on Sunday at the Town & Country Club in Sheboygan with a team score of 441. Lakeland only fielded three golfers on Sunday and thus finished with no team score.
TaVea Peterson (Jr.-Chilton, Wis.) led the Muskies both days, shooting a score of 118 on Saturday and 106 on Sunday. Peterson finished third individually both days, while Alex Hackel of Wisconsin Lutheran won medalist honors both days with scores of 97 on Saturday and 89 on Sunday.
Kaylee Ninneman (Jr.-Marinette, Wis.) shot rounds of 146 on Saturday and 137 on Sunday, while Becca Elliott (So.-Indian River, Mich.) carded a score of 154 on Saturday and 143 at home on Sunday. Brittany Kopp (So.-Crivitz, Wis.) also shot a round of 134 while competing Saturday.
Lakeland returns to action Tuesday, Sept. 25 with a home dual against Ripon College at Town & Country.
