Daus, Elzinga receive first Muskie of the Week honors for 2012-13

Lakeland College women's volleyball player Taylor Daus (Sr.-Bay Port, Wis.) and men's soccer player Paul Elzinga (So.-Howards Grove, Wis.) are the first to receive the Muskies of the Week award for the 2012-13 school year.

Daus receives the honor after helping lead the Lakeland women's volleyball team to a 4-0 record last weekend to open the season at the Illinois College Invitational. The lone senior on this year's team, she finished with 39 kills and 51 digs in the tourney, leading the Muskies in kills and tying for second on the squad in digs over the four matches.

Elzinga receives the award after scoring the winning goal in overtime of the Muskies' 3-2 win over Ripon on Sunday. He scored 1:18 into the extra period to give Lakeland its first win of the season and had a hand in all three goals in the match, scoring on a penalty kick and also assisting on the Muskies' third goal.
