Accounting Degree

The Lakeland College accounting undergraduate degree prepares students for positions in business and industry. Graduates who pass all course requirements are eligible to sit for the Certified Public Accountant* (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) examinations.

The 60-credit accounting program focuses on the examination, organization, management, and design of accurate recording and reporting procedures of financial and business transactions. Specializations in this area include management accounting, tax accounting, cost accounting, and internal auditing.

Availability

The Accounting Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree is currently offered at all of the Lakeland College Kellett School Centers, and through Lakeland College Online™. Most courses are also offered BlendEd®.

* Please note: As of January 1, 2001, accounting candidates who wish to sit for the uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam must complete a minimum of 150 semester hours of college credit prior to sitting for the exam. The Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants recommends that "accounting students include courses in critical thinking, communications, psychology, business management, computer skills, and ethics, as part of their 150 hours."
