Lakeland preparing for 162nd Commencement

Lakeland University will award degrees to more than 500 students this Saturday, May 11, at the institution’s 162nd commencement.

Lakeland will award degrees to 508 students as part of the ceremony, including 344 undergraduates and 164 graduate students. LU is holding three in-person ceremonies in the Wehr Center on Lakeland’s main campus:

  • 10 a.m. – Master’s degree ceremony.
  • 1 p.m. – Kellett School undergraduate ceremony.
  • 4 p.m. – Traditional undergraduate ceremony.

Each ceremony can be watched live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/Lakeland/. The ceremonies will also be recorded for on-demand viewing at the same link beginning later on May 11.

Students getting degrees Saturday took classes at Lakeland’s main campus in Sheboygan County, through its six centers located throughout Wisconsin and/or through online programming.

Speakers at the three ceremonies are:

  • 10 a.m.: Michael Grubich, president & managing partner at LAK Group.
  • 1 p.m.: Natasha Torry, Sheboygan County circuit court judge, branch 2.
  • 4 p.m.: Jeff Frank, artistic director of First Stage.

All three speakers will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from LU.
