Vice President for Student Development: Nathan Dehne
(920) 565-1588dehnend@lakeland.edu Nathan Dehne was named Lakeland College's vice president for student development in the fall of 2008. In this position, Nate oversees Lakeland's campus admission office, athletic department and all offices associated with campus life and student development. Nate originally joined the Lakeland family as director of admissions. During his time in this role, Nate worked collaboratively with other offices on campus to revamp the entire recruitment process resulting in the highest new student enrollment numbers in Lakeland's history. Prior to joining Lakeland, Nate served in various roles in the office of admissions at his undergraduate alma mater, Carroll University. These positions included admissions counselor and telecommunications coordinator, athletic recruitment liaison and assistant director of admissions before moving to his last post at Carroll, associate director of admissions. In his time at Carroll, the college experienced tremendous enrollment growth. In addition to his executive and leadership experience, Nate also teaches a learning skills course and has taught a course in Lakeland's masters of arts in counseling program. He is also involved in numerous state, regional and national higher education organizations. A native of neighboring Howards Grove, he holds a masters of arts in counseling degree with a higher education emphasis from Lakeland. He has a bachelor of science in English and communications from Carroll. Nate resides in Howards Grove with his wife Melissa, and their three kids, Ben, Emma and Sam.

Director of Residence Life: Jim Bajczyk
(920) 565-1521bajczykJA@lakeland.edu Jim Bajczyk, the director of residence life, received both his bachelor's degree (Sociology) and master's degree (College Student Personnel) from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Prior to arriving at Lakeland College in 2003, Jim worked at Luther College, Purdue University, the University of Wisconsin, Washington State University, the University of Nebraska-Omaha, and the University of Oregon. Originally from Milwaukee and now living in Kiel, WI with his wife, Rhetta, and children Ashley, Whitney, and Zoe, Jim points to the familiar atmosphere and supportive community of Lakeland College as qualities that set it aside from other college campuses. Jim welcomes students to his office in the Campus Center with any and all concerns or just to chat. A firm believer in student activism, Jim is always open to suggestions on how to improve the lives of students at Lakeland College.

KC Blahnik, Residence Hall Director of Muehlmeier Hall

Blahnikk@lakeland.edu KC Blahnik serves as the Hall Director for Muehlmeier Hall. KC received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lakeland College in 2010. She is currently working on her Master of Arts Degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Higher Education at Lakeland. KC worked as an Apartment Coordinator on campus for two years while completing her undergraduate degree. KC played both basketball and softball while attending Lakeland, and still remains actively involved with the Women's Basketball Program. She lists the family atmosphere and caring people as reasons for continuing her education and beginning her professional career at Lakeland. She enjoys the everyday interaction with the students and likes being able to help and watch them grow and mature. KC is engaged to Steven Kuehl of Rapid River, MI and is mother to Lola, a yellow Labrador/Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix.

Housing & Campus Center Coordinator: Margaret Teske
(920) 565-1228teskemm@lakeland.edu Margaret Teske is the Housing & Campus Center Coordinator for the Student Life Office and has been a member of the Lakeland College community since 1993. Her main responsibilities are housing students, staffing and supervising the Campus Center Information Desk, coordinating the shuttle service and managing the activities of the Campus Center and the Student Life Office. Margaret would be happy to assist you with shipping a package through UPS, reserving a guest room, or getting your mail if you've forgotten your key. Please stop in at the Campus Center to see her if you have any questions or need assistance. She would be happy to help you. Margaret lives in the area with her son, Carson, along with their labradoodle, Tucker, and their cat, Piper. Both Margaret and Carson enjoy getting involved in many activities on campus.

Sally Bork, Coordinator of Student Success

She grew up in Sarasota, Fla., and decided to make a change in climate to pursue her education at Lakeland College. She graduated in 2002 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. Sally enjoys the sense of community provided at Lakeland and the spirited engagement of the faculty, staff and students on campus. Sally lives in Sheboygan with her husband, Ryan, their daughters, Abby and Ashley along with the family dog, Tika. Her office is located the Younger Family Campus Center where she welcomes all visitors.

Ryan Opahle, Assistant Director of Residence Life
(920) 565-1517opahlerl@lakeland.edu Ryan Opahle is the Assistant Director of Residence Life. His position also includes duties as the Area Coordinator for Brotz/Apartments/Suites and as the International Student Mentor on campus. He was born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin before leaving and receiving his Bachelor of Business Administration (Management/Human Resources, Finance, and Economics) degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2002. He continued his education at UW-Madison, receiving his Master of Science degree in Educational Administration (with Emphasis on Higher Education and Student Services) in 2004. While attending UW-Madison, Ryan worked at Princeton House private residence hall as a Resident Assistant for two years and a Programming Associate for three years. During his studies, he also volunteered in the Orientation & New Student Programs office, and completed internships at the UW Office of Human Resource Development, the UW International Student Services Office (BRIDGE International Friendship Program) and the Edgewood College International Student Office. He was also involved with the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity and the Society of Human Resource Management. Ryan enjoys the close-knit campus community provided at Lakeland College and the potential it gives to meet and interact with every single student on campus. His office is located in Brotz Hall and he welcomes all visitors.

Director of the Health Center: Sherry Carstens

She graduated from Lakeshore Technical College and has worked in various health fields from Psychiatric to Pediatrics. She joined the Lakeland staff as a part-time nurse and became full-time in 2005. Her primary duties are to the health needs of the students. She provides basic care and medications for the more common illnesses, and referrals to other health facilities as warranted. Sherry lives in the area with her husband Roger and has 3 children (Eric , Tara and Andrew), along with their boxer Rocky. Her door is always open and she is willing to talk with students and help when she can. Stop in and say hello!

Cary Knier, Psy.D., Director of Counseling Services
(920) 565-1527knierca@lakeland Cary Knier, Psy.D. is the Director of Counseling Services. She is a licensed psychologist who specializes in working with young adults and children. Cary is a Lakeland College graduate and earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology here. She also attended the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology in Minneapolis where she earned a Doctorate of Psychology Degree in Clinical Psychology. Cary completed an internship at Mendota Mental Health Institute and Catholic Charities in Madison. She has taught undergraduate and graduate psychology courses at Lakeland. Cary is available to counsel students for a broad range of problems including depression, anxiety, relationships, and school related problems. Alex Liosatos, MA, Mental Health Counselor
(920) 565-1527LiosatosA@lakeland.edu Alex is a Master's Level Counselor with a background in Social Anthropology and International Affairs. She has worked as a counselor in a variety of settings, and is currently providing mental health services at Novo Counseling and BridgePoint Health in Sheboygan. Alex co-facilitates a weekly group for teen girls, and has also facilitated groups for depression, stress, and problem-solving. Alex is a graduate of the Master of Arts in Counseling (MAC) program at Lakeland's Kellett School and is now an adjunct instructor there. Alex enjoys working with college students from all backgrounds and locations. She is an immigrant from Great Britain, but traveled extensively before settling in the USA, living and working in Europe, Africa, and Asia. Alex is available on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to provide a sympathetic ear, to help with a specific problem, or to suggest some stress-busting techniques during a difficult semester. Lisa Stephan, Director, Career Development Staff

Lisa graduated from Lakeland with a bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology and started working at Lakeland 15 years ago. Prior to Lakeland, Lisa worked in residential treatment with adolescents and also enjoyed working in Japan as an assistant English teacher. Upon returning to Lakeland, Lisa worked several years in student activities before moving into career development. She earned a master's degree in counseling with an emphasis in higher education. Lisa also coordinates the internship program. |
Jessica Lambrecht, Career Counselor

In that time, Jessica has really enjoyed the small campus setting and involved student population. Prior to Lakeland, Jessica worked as a residence hall director at UW-Stevens Point. She earned a bachelor's degree in marketing communications and speech communications from UW-River Falls and a master's degree in higher education administration from the University of Kansas. Jessica has always had a strong interest in career development and helping students develop their passion and future career interests. She is very excited to work with students on an individual basis and help them gain the skills necessary to be successful in finding employment after college! |
