To be considered for admission to the undergraduate degree program at Lakeland, an international applicant must submit:

  1. International Application Form
  2. Official transcript(s) of your high school studies and/or of college studies (all post-secondary education). Transcripts must be accompanied by an official course-by-course evaluation translated in English from an approved foreign credential evaluation organization.
  3. Demonstrate English Proficiency (if previous education was not taught in English) through the submission of proof of one of the following:
    • TOEFL- Minimum 500 on the Paper-Based TOEFL, or a 61 on the internet based TOEFL (iBT) is required. The test must have been taken within the previous two years. Lakeland University's code is 1393.
    • IELTS- Minimum 6.0
    • Successful completion of ELS English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Level 112
    • WESLI, MESLS or other approved English Language Schools in which Lakeland University has an official agreement
    • Acceptable GCE Ordinary or Advanced Level results or acceptable WAEC test results
  4. International Student Certification of Finances: Your application must be accompanied by certification that sufficient funds will be available to meet both your living and tuition expenses while attending Lakeland University.
  5. A copy of your passport photo page
  6. If you are currently in the U.S, please enclose a copy of your visa page(s) and a copy of your current I-20 or DS-2019 if any.

Graduate Admission Requirements

Lakeland University offers two graduate degree programs that are available to international applicants:

  • MBA-Master of Business Administration
  • Master of Arts in Counseling

To be considered for admission to a graduate degree program, an international applicant MUST submit:

  1. International Application Form
  2. Official transcript(s) from an accredited institution verifying completion of a 4-year bachelor's degree.
  3. Demonstrate English Proficiency (if previous education was not taught in English) through the submission of proof of one of the following:
    • TOEFL- Minimum 550 on the Paper-Based TOEFL, or a 79 on the internet based TOEFL (iBT) is required. The test must have been taken within the previous two years. Lakeland University's code is 1393.
    • IELTS- Minimum 6.0
    • Successful completion of ELS English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Level 112
    • WESLI, MESLS or other approved English Language Schools in which Lakeland University has an official agreement
  4. Two recommendation letters
  5. Current resume
  6. A written statement of purpose indicating how a M.B.A. educational experience would help the applicant meet professional goals and what leadership or managerial skills the applicant would bring to this program (limited to 250 words). Contact admissions advisor for Masters of Counseling requirements.
  7. GRE or GMAT is NOT required. However, if you are an MBA applicant and your undergraduate GPA is below 2.75, you must take the GMAT and obtain satisfactory scores. You may take up to three MBA courses before you are officially accepted to this degree program. To take the fourth course, you must obtain approval from the chair of the Business Department by providing GPA, successful completion of the foundation courses, if any, and a minimum 450 GMAT score.
