Lakeland has long been an important place to Bruce and Carol Grover, who have generously supported the school for more than three decades
“Lakeland is such a great part of this community,” said Carol.
That love Bruce and Carol feel toward Lakeland was passed on to their daughter, Deb Wente, who now loyally serves on the Board of Trustees.
And now there’s an exciting new connection between the Grovers and the school they’ve been fond of for so long. Granddaughter Kristin is a first-year Lakeland student.
“Our daughter is fitting in here beautifully,” said Deb with a big smile. “Of course, we think Lakeland is an unbelievable place.”
During Homecoming 2013, Bruce and Carol and Deb and her husband, John, beamed proudly as they watched dance team member Kristin help fire up the crowd during the tailgate party.
Kristin is enrolled in Lakeland’s dynamic pre-nursing program, which features guaranteed admission into the highly regarded Columbia College of Nursing program in Glendale, Wis. after two years of successfully completing core classes at Lakeland.
“She’s making new friends at Lakeland, and really enjoying the smaller classes and being a part of the school in different ways,” Deb said.
Added Bruce: “We’re so excited she’s here.”
