Educational trip to the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center in Chicago

Saturday, March 3, 2018, depart from Lakeland University at 8 a.m. and return at approximately 5:30 p.m.

$12 per person. Includes transportation via coach bus, admission, guided tour and light lunch once we arrive at the museum. You may bring your own snacks and beverages for the bus ride.

Open to anyone; suggested minimum age is 12. Anyone under the age of 18 will be required to complete a waiver with parental approval and be accompanied by an adult.

RSVP by Feb. 16 below. Seats are limited and available first-come, first-served. All reservations must be secured with payment.

The trip will include a three-hour guided tour of the Zev and Shifra Karkomi Holocaust Exhibition where you’ll experience pre-war European life, ghettos and concentration camps, liberation and resettlement around the world through more than 500 artifacts, documents and photographs. It has a special focus on post-war life in Skokie, Illinois, which had the largest per capita population of Holocaust survivors outside of Israel, and sparked the Museum’s eventual creation. The exhibition concludes with a film that connects the lessons of the Holocaust with other genocides around the world. Tour guides will provide context, understanding and clarity, and survivor stories woven throughout the exhibition make the experience both powerful and personal.

Contact or 920-565-1023 ext. 2151 for questions.

* Special thank you to the Nathan and Esther Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center—A program of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, for sponsoring the cost of the transportation.
