A free panel discussion to explore a variety of responses to gun violence.
A panel of community members from different perspectives will offer their views on the issue of gun rights/gun control/gun violence. Joe DeCecco, former Sheboygan County District Attorney and current LU adjunct instructor, will speak to the Second Amendment and his experience in the law enforcement area. Liz Abler, public health nurse with Sheb. Co Health and Human Services and former board member of Mental Health of America-Sheboygan, will speak on the role of guns in domestic violence/suicides and gun violence as a public health crisis. Ann MacPhetridge, a representative of Moms Demand Action, a gun violence advocacy group, will offer suggestions on steps the community can take. Dr. Julie Mavity Maddalena, Ulrich Ethicist in Residence, Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Religion, Lakeland University will be the moderator.
