Song, dance, bright-colored costumes and laughter filled the Lakeland College Bradley Theatre Thursday night as “Hairspray” opened its four-show stand.

Judging by crowd reaction, the largest-scale production in Associate Professor of Theatre and Speech Charlie Krebs’ nearly decade-long career at Lakeland was an opening-night hit.

Tickets remain for the rest of the week, though they are selling briskly. Shows are Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 and Sunday at 2. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit
