Lakeland University students who attended Thursday’s Lunch & Learn session received an in-depth tutorial about professional networking giant LinkedIn.
Presenting were social media experts Lindsay Harrison-Eirich, founder and owner of Eng@ged Social Networking, and 2016 Lakeland graduate Gaby Cappaert, a social media specialist at Eng@ged.
Harrison-Eirich and Cappaert provided the students with helpful tips on how to set up their LinkedIn pages, offered best-practice strategies for how to market themselves on the site and showed them how to best filter their searches for desired, applicable positions.
LU’s Lunch & Learn is a regular on-campus event offered by the Student Success & Engagement Office. The free presentations focus on real-world topics that are important to educational success and post-graduation employment.
The next Lunch & Learn, scheduled for March 2 in the 1862 Lounge, will focus on the all-important subject of leadership. On March 16, Jessica Kalmar, LU assistant professor of psychology, will discuss the graduate school option. And on April 6, the topic will be internship planning.
