LU ONE, Lakeland University’s new alumni-student mentorship program, recently closed out a successful first semester with a luncheon.

LU ONE (Opportunity, Network & Experience), which matches successful Lakeland graduates with current students, will return for the 2017-18 academic year. Student applications are due Sept. 15, and all rising sophomores and juniors are encouraged to apply.

During the pilot launch this spring, 32 graduates were paired with 32 students. Some students toured their mentors’ workplaces, conducted practice interviews, regularly exchanged emails and met for lunch.

Through LU ONE, mentors and their students are encouraged to communicate and meet regularly based on their needs, interests and availability.
