Five Lakeland University Cru members attended a conference in Minneapolis, Minn., over the holiday break: Jacob Barthels, Matt Seider, Tim Koerber, Tia Hoisington and Molly Schwibinger.
The LU Cru members joined 1,300 other students from throughout the region to worship and learn together. “Personally, the most impactful part of the experience was our Outreach day,” said Barthels, a junior. “Our Cru went to a sober living house and had an amazing opportunity to meet the residents, hear their stories, share the gospel and pray with them. It was a humbling experience.”
Cru, which was started at Lakeland in August, is an international campus ministry organization whose mission is to help fulfil the Great Commission by bringing people to faith in Jesus Christ, building them in their faith and sending them to others. Members of the organization visit different churches each week to gain knowledge of the different denominations of Christianity.
Students interested in joining Lakeland’s Cru should contact Matt Seider or Jacob Barthels.
