Homecoming 2018 was my fellow seniors and mine last homecoming as students at Lakeland. I’m not going to get super sentimental, but wow! The years sure have flown by! This year homecoming was filled with fantastic events, and many many alumni on campus to join in on all of the fun!
The week really kicked off on Monday as students got to dress up as nerds, followed by professional dress on Tuesday! Wednesday was “wear your org” day, which meant students could rep any organization they are apart of on campus. Thursday was an even more exciting day, because it was the Mr. & Ms. Muskie competition! Tali Coleman and Maui Viola were awesome hosts and made the production even more entertaining. The winners ended up being Sam Bartlett and Natsuki Saito, congratulations again to them! Friday was another exciting day because students got to wear Lakeland gear AND the pep rally kicked off the weekend Friday night! The Freshmen were the victors and defeated the rest of the classes.
Saturday was the most eventful, fun filled day I could have asked for! The football team defeated Concordia Chicago, 61-28. This led into a fun night! The campus was filled with alum and current students hanging out with families and enjoying the new campus center.
As my senior year continues to fly by, it can be easy to lose track of the days and weeks. Before you know it, Christmas break will be here. Then spring break. Then graduation. It’s a wonderful blessing to go to a school like Lakeland where the events like Homecoming, help create cherished lifelong memories. Homecoming 2018 was a fantastic opportunity to soak in all of the moments and take advantage of the four years we get to call this place home.
