Lakeland recently launched a new relationship with Jefferson Elementary School in Sheboygan.

Members of Lakeland's Gentlemen and Gentlewomen of Virtue groups went to Jefferson where their students led them on a tour of their school, played some games and shared lunch. The Jefferson students will visit Lakeland next week to get a taste of what college life is like and to further build relationships.

The goal of the program for Jefferson is encouraging their students to be ambassadors and take pride in their school and the work they’re doing. For Lakeland, it is an opportunity to be mentors and role models in the community.

Jefferson Elementary Principal Zach Pethan said of the LU students who visited Jefferson, "It is always great to meet young men and women that are willing to go out of their way to help the youngest."

The schools look forward to building a long-lasting relationship!
