Lakeland University recently participated in National African-American Read-In Day, celebrating Black History Month by paying homage to great literature produced by black Americans. Lakeland is the only college or university in Wisconsin to participate in this initiative, created by the National Council of Teachers of English.   For more than two decades, Lakeland has been sending its students to the annual Workforce Career and Internship Fair at the State Fairgrounds in West Allis, Wis.On Tuesday, LU was again well-represented, with approximately 40 students and recent graduates attending and visiting with representatives from 188 companies, organizations and graduate school programs. Lakeland University students who attended Thursday’s Lunch & Learn session received an in-depth tutorial about professional networking giant LinkedIn. Presenting were social media experts Lindsay Harrison-Eirich, founder and owner of Eng@ged Social Networking, and 2016 Lakeland graduate Gaby Cappaert, a social media specialist at Eng@ged.
