Lakeland College graduate Caitlin Brotz, founder and owner of Olivü 426, was a big winner Thursday night at the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce Champions Gala. Brotz’s Olivü 426, which produces and sells a plethora of all-natural face and body care lotions and other products, was named the county’s Retailer of the Year during Thursday’s event at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake. Five successful Lakeland College graduates returned to campus earlier this week for the 2015 Business Colloquium. The alumni first spoke with a handful of prospective future students in a roundtable format, then discussed their careers, recounted their Lakeland College experience and offered advice to about 300 current students. It’s been a long, cold winter, but thanks to Lakeland’s Beta Sigma Omega fraternity, many of Sheboygan-area residents in need might soon feel a bit warmer. On Thursday morning, Beta members Romain Johnson, Marvin Warfield, Joshua Guy and Warren Miller loaded up a Salvation Army van with two huge plastic barrels and several large garbage bags full of donated clothes. Two Lakeland College mini-buses filled with well-dressed students left campus earlier this week, bound for Milwaukee and the 24th annual Workforce Career and Internship Fair. Transportation to the event for the more than 40 Lakeland students who attended was supplied by the college’s Success and Engagement Coaches team. Energy and enthusiasm coursed through Lakeland College’s natural sciences division on Monday, when about 60 Sheboygan Falls High School juniors and seniors spent the day engaged in various chemistry experiments.
