Road America

Launch: Lakeland Student-Run Businesses has partnered with Road America to run the concession stand at turn 12 for the upcoming racing season.

Road America is one of only a handful of road circuits in the world maintaining its original configuration of 4 miles in length and 14 turns. The track features many elevation changes, along with a long front stretch where speeds approaching 200 mph may be reached.

Road America's open seating allows spectators to venture throughout the grounds. Grandstands are available in several locations, as well as permanent hillside seating where crowds of more than 150,000 can be accommodated.

The Lakeland concession stand is located at Turn 12 located off the track but with track access. The menu will be created by LU dining services and all ordering and pre-race weekend arrangements handled by the Launch team member, Road America Manager.

The stand will sell food, non-alcoholic beverages and beer.

For each race, we will need to secure the following amount of volunteers for each day. When signing up, your group is committing to working the entire weekend.

  • Friday: 3 volunteers
  • Saturday: 4 volunteers
  • Sunday: 5 volunteers

Note: may need more workers on busier race weekends, or if a group wishes to do walking sales.

The volunteer group must operate stand on Saturday and Sunday of race weekends. We can discuss races where a team/organization may wish to have extended hours or operate on Friday where there is interest. Friday hours may be less.

The volunteer group will be responsible for:

  • Stand set-up and clean-up on race weekend
  • Food and beverage preparation and sales
  • Handling cash and credit card payments
  • The Launch RA Manager will be onsite as the main point of contact.

Volunteer groups will make 60% of net profit.

25% of gross sales is paid to Road America each race weekend. Launch will take 15% of net profit.

Please contact us with the weekend you would like to have your group volunteer:

  • *June 18-20: NTT IndyCar Series REV Group Grand Prix, Road America, Elkhart Lake
  • *July 16-18: International Challenge vintage races, Road America, Elkhart Lake
