Oct 2020 – Muskie Pride

Ground Breaking Ceremony

We invite you to join us on October 15 at 11 a.m. as we break ground for our new residence halls!

Stay at HOMEcoming

Each year, we look forward to welcoming you back to campus for a weekend to reconnect with old friends and create new memories. This year is a little different. The Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference (NACC) postponed all conference regular-season competitions and championships through the end of the calendar year. Our first priority is the health and safety of all of our Muskies, so we have made the difficult decision to cancel Homecoming 2020.

Although we will not gather in person on October 9 and 10, we invite you to celebrate your Muskie pride by joining us for a day of social celebration on our Lakeland Facebook page! Follow along that day for videos, stories, and opportunities to share your favorite Homecoming photos and memories.

We are excited to bring you back home in 2021.

Holy Family College graduate music program finds new home at Lakeland

Lakeland is proud to announce that we are the new home to the internationally known Master of Music in Music Education with a Kodály Emphasis that was started and offered for many years by Holy Family College (formerly Silver Lake College of the Holy Family).

Holy Family/Silver Lake, which closed at the end of the summer, was one of the first institutions to offer a master’s degree in Kodály education, and the program has enjoyed a reputation of excellence. Be sure to check out the Lakeland University Blog to read more about this exciting new program!

Tackling social justice issues in the workplace

The Co-Op and Career Readiness Office, in partnership with Multicultural Affairs, is proud to present “Tackling Social Justice Issues in the Workplace” via Microsoft Teams on October 12th at 4 p.m. The presentation will feature Lakeland alumnus Rodney Ellison ’07 MBA ’18. Alumni and friends may RSVP by emailing GuyL@lakeland.edu.

Giving made easy

Become a part of our sustainable giving program! This option allows you to make automatic, recurring gifts online without the hassle of writing a check or buying a stamp! “I love that Lakeland offers this easy way to automatically give monthly donations. I’ve been migrating almost all of my charitable giving to this format, as it makes budgeting so much easier for me and for the organizations I want to support! I don’t have to try to recall if I’ve already given, and they don’t have to waste their resources reminding me to make my gift. Lakeland has been such a huge part of my life and whom I’ve become, and I feel really good helping ensure that Lakeland will be around for many generations to come,” Emily Rendall-Araujo ’11 MBA ’14
