October 2021 – Muskie Pride

Homecoming at last!

What a beautiful day it was to celebrate our alumni and friends being back on campus! The Muskies football team also won big against Wisconsin Lutheran. Thank you to everyone who returned home!

Muskies – put your checkbook away!

Are you looking for a NEW way to support Lakeland University without a checkbook? Here are some simple ways you can give a powerful gift. It can make a huge difference for Lakeland University and is also tax-advantageous for you!

· Stocks: Appreciated stock gifts are a great way to save on capital gains tax and reduce your taxable income while supporting Lakeland. Simply reach out to our Advancement office for the easy steps on how to direct your broker.

· IRA Charitable Rollover: Are you over 70 1/2? Directing a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) directly from your IRA is one of the most tax-savvy ways to give. Simply directing your IRA custodian to make a distribution—you can then reduce your taxable income— to support Lakeland.

Also, did you know Lakeland accepts Donor Advised Funds? Please consider directing a grant from your DAF.

For detailed directions on how to make a Stock, IRA Charitable Rollover, or Donor Advised Fund gift please reach out to our advancement department at 920-565-1023, extension 2161 or email advancement@lakeland.edu. You can also visit Lakeland.edu/give online.

As always, please consult with your own tax and legal advisors when making a donation of this kind.

Lakeland makes its mark at the Ryder Cup

The Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits Golf Course brought in thousands of golf fans, and Lakeland alumni and students played a part in bringing the excitement to life.
