Every year, transfer students and non-traditional students find themselves rethinking college. And every year, more of you decide that Lakeland University is the right choice for you. It’s not always just one thing that wins you over, but quite a few factors actually.
Transfer up to 90 Credits
Lakeland has a generous transfer credit policy, accepting up to 72 credits from two-year schools and 90 credits from four-year schools. Students who have graduated from one of our Wisconsin Technical College partners with an associate degree are guaranteed admission to Lakeland and start as a junior.
Small Class Sizes
We keep it personal and meaningful with a 15:1 student-to-teacher ratio. That adds up to countless ways to benefit from one-on-one faculty interactions and encourages mentoring that lasts a lifetime.
Class Availability = On-time Graduation
Classes are carefully scheduled and students work closely with faculty advisors to ensure the best possible scheduling options…all so you can graduate on your timeline.
Affordable
To assist Wisconsin Technical College students in furthering their academic and career goals, Lakeland University participates in a course-to-course agreement with Wisconsin's 16 Technical Colleges. The WAICU-WTCS Course Credit Transfer Agreement is designed to ensure a smooth transfer process for WTCS students who wish to pursue a degree at Lakeland University. The fourteen courses in the agreement will satisfy general education or general degree requirements when applicable. Students are responsible for confirming that these courses transfer to their intended major by working with their academic advisor.
Students who wish to transfer to Lakeland from another college must be in good academic standing and must submit official academic transcripts from all other colleges attended. Only coursework which is similar to courses offered at Lakeland University and in which the student has earned a grade of "C" or better will transfer. Grades earned at other colleges are not included in the Lakeland GPA. The Lakeland credit unit is the semester hour, which is equivalent to 1.5 quarter hours. All work completed at other colleges will be converted to semester hours when evaluating transferable credits. All applicants will receive an evaluation of their transferable credits with a listing of the courses required to complete a Lakeland University degree when their application files are complete and admission decisions have been made. All transfer students must complete a minimum of 30 semester hours of coursework at Lakeland University in order to earn a Lakeland degree.
