Lakeland grad named to LU Board of Trustees

The Rev. Kristal M. Klemme, a Lakeland University graduate, has been elected to a four-year term on the university’s Board of Trustees.

Klemme has served as pastor of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Plymouth, Wis., since October 2017.

She graduated from Lakeland in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in religion with a minor in vocal performance and pedagogy. She received her Master of Divinity from Chicago Theological Seminary.

Deeply committed to inclusive ministry, Klemme is passionate about sharing God’s love with all people and serving as a faithful presence of compassion and justice in the world. Her leadership extends beyond the local church through service on several boards and committees, including Mental Health America – Lakeshore, the United Church of Christ Mental Health Network and the Wisconsin Conference United Church of Christ Placement and Transition Team.

She and her husband, Philip, reside in Sheboygan Falls and are the parents of three adult children, Eric (Rebecca), Allison (Jake) and Isaac.
