Is your business ready to tackle artificial intelligence and leverage it to move you forward?

Lakeland University’s Center for Professional and Personal Development can help with a half-day workshop entitled AI Essentials: Empowering Professionals for Business Success.

Workshops are set for Wednesday, June 18, from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. or 1-5 p.m. at Lakeland’s Sheboygan County campus.

Attendees will discover how artificial intelligence is reshaping the business landscape—and how they can harness it to drive innovation, efficiency and smarter decisions. AI Essentials is a fast-paced, hands-on workshop designed for professionals who want to understand AI without needing a technical background.

The workshop will be led by Lakeland adjunct instructor Indrajith Wasala Mudiyanselage, Ph.D., a data scientist and educator who is passionate about helping others develop a strong quantitative intuition and confidence in applying data-driven solutions to real-world challenges.

In this session attendees will:

  • Understand what AI really is (and isn’t)
  • Learn how AI is being used in real businesses across industries
  • Master the basics of prompt engineering to get better results from AI
  • Try out leading free tools like ChatGPT, NotebookLM, Jotform AI, and more
  • Understand the ethical risks and responsibilities of AI use
  • Leave with practical strategies, tools and resources you can apply immediately.

The workshop is suited for folks working in marketing, management, HR, finance or operations seeking the knowledge and confidence to lead with AI.
