Lakeland transitioned to an all-virtual bookstore in the fall of 2021. Although the physical bookstore at the Main Campus no longer exists, Lakeland still has a relationship with Follett through its virtual store.
All Lakeland students (traditional and Kellett) can buy/rent/sell back textbooks with Follett. This page includes pdf documents that show how various processes with Follett will work. Students ordering course materials though Follett must follow the steps in these documents.
It is important for students to have courses selected for the semester as early as possible. Also, students who rent textbooks or other materials from Follett will be responsible for return shipping costs.
Lakeland is not requiring students to purchase textbooks from any specific vendor. However, students who intend to use a financial aid balance or veterans benefits for textbooks will need to purchase from Follett.
Whatever vendor students use, make sure the correct ISBN number is used when purchasing texts so the correct materials are purchased. One place students can find the correct ISBN is the Follett website. The course syllabus also is likely to have this information.
Anyone with questions about textbooks can contact Follett directly at 1-800-381-5151 or click this link.
We understand the cost of textbooks is a concern for many. Please know our faculty are working hard to adopt policies that will help control these costs.
