Lakeland partners to host Sheboygan Memorial Day events
Planning is underway for the annual City of Sheboygan Memorial Day celebration, set for Monday, May 25, with a parade, ceremony and brat fry in downtown Sheboygan.
The event is a collaboration between United States veterans and active-duty personnel, the City of Sheboygan, the Sheboygan County Veterans Service Office and Launch: Lakeland Student-Run Businesses. Kohler Credit Union is sponsoring the parade.
The parade will be held in downtown Sheboygan starting at 9 a.m. with a ceremony to follow at Fountain Park.
The parade route starts at 7th Street & Center Avenue, goes north on 7th Street to Michigan Avenue, goes west on Michigan to 9th Street, goes south on 9th Street and ends at Fountain Park.

Pre-registration for the parade is needed by Thursday, May 14.
The Memorial Day ceremony begins immediately after the parade at Fountain Park and will include a remembrance of those who gave their lives in service to our nation, as well as a tribute to veterans and active-duty men and women.
This year’s featured speaker is Craig Stewart, who serves as the county veterans service officer for Sheboygan County. He works directly with veterans and their families to ensure they receive the benefits and support they have earned through service.
A veteran of the United States Coast Guard, Stewart brings firsthand understanding to his role as an advocate for those who served. He also remains actively involved in the community as chairman of the Military and Youth Foundation, supporting programs that benefit veterans and local youth.
In his role, he leads efforts to connect veterans with federal, state and local resources while working closely with community partners to strengthen support systems across the county.
A brat fry will be held at Fountain Park. All the proceeds will go to Military and Youth Foundation and Marine Corps League.
