Lakeland University baccalaureate nursing programs receive continued CCNE accreditation
Lakeland University’s baccalaureate nursing programs have been awarded 10 years of continued accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) following an on-site evaluation conducted in spring 2026.
The evaluation included Lakeland's RN to BSN Completion Program and BSN Concurrent Enrollment Program. The accreditation decision reflects the university's continued committed to providing high-quality nursing education and its ability to meet rigorous national standards for academic achievement, student outcomes and continuous improvement.
“Receiving continued accreditation is an important recognition of the dedication and collaborative efforts of our faculty, staff, students and university leadership," said Kerry Hamm, director of Lakeland’s Nursing Program and assistant professor of nursing. “We take pride in the education we provide and remain focused on equipping nurses with the knowledge, skills and experiences necessary to advance their practice, develop as leaders and make meaningful contributions to the health of the communities they serve.”
CCNE is an autonomous accrediting agency that promotes the quality and integrity of baccalaureate, graduate, and residency programs in nursing. Through its voluntary accreditation process, CCNE evaluates nursing programs against established national standards for nursing education, supporting educational excellence and program effectiveness assuring Lakeland University nursing students are prepared to enter the profession with a foundation necessary for success.
Lakeland University first received CCNE accreditation for its RN to BSN Completion Program in 2021. This latest achievement reinforces Lakeland's ongoing efforts to prepare nurses in an evolving healthcare environment.
