Brotz Family Foundation gift supports Sheb. Co. Scholars
The Frank G. and Frieda K. Brotz Family Foundation has pledged $500,000 to support Lakeland University’s Sheboygan County Scholars program.
Previous Brotz Family Foundation gifts have helped support full-tuition scholarships to more than 35 students who have been awarded entry into the program after meeting rigorous academic standards and completing a competitive application process.
The goal of the program is to retain some of Sheboygan County’s most promising young people and prepare them to assume future leadership positions within the region. All scholars have either graduated or are on track to graduate.
“We believe in the mission of Lakeland University and the Sheboygan County Scholars program,” said Brotz Family Foundation President Stuart Brotz. “The program has a proven track record of success, and we are pleased to continue to partner with Lakeland to invest in young people in Sheboygan County to develop tomorrow’s leaders.”
Lakeland President Beth Borgen said the Brotz Family Foundation has been a pivotal donor since the program’s inception in 2014.
“The academic and leadership accomplishments of many of these students are very impressive,” Borgen said. “We are thankful for the ongoing support from the Brotz Family Foundation and their belief in our mission.”
