Leading through a Pandemic: Perspectives of Wisconsin Executives

Earlier this year, Lakeland University offered a very popular online course Leading through a Pandemic: Perspectives of Wisconsin Executives.

A record number of students heard from an impressive lineup of some of Wisconsin’s top executives who detailed how they led their organizations through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Each week of the seven-week course allowed students to interact virtually with well-known leaders. The lineup included:

  • Green Bay Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy
  • Kohler Co. President and CEO David Kohler
  • United Way Executives Amy Lindner & Kate Baer and Family Bridges Executive Director Alicia La Hoz
  • Milwaukee Brewers President-Business Operations Rick Schlesinger
  • Bank First Corp. CEO Mike Molepske
  • St. Paul Elder Services CEO Sondra Norder
  • Jacob Leinenkugal Brewing Company President Dick Leinenkugal

Students researched and presented on how their employers have adapted to the pandemic and created a pandemic preparation plan in anticipation of a future business disruption.

Lakeland plans to offer a similarly structured course each year on the most relevant business topics of the day, featuring leaders in the industry.

Courses will be offered as seminars through Develop U, which is run by Launch: Lakeland University Student-Run Businesses, as well as for academic credit as part of relevant Lakeland degree programs.
