LU co-hosts popular seniors event

Lakeland University and the City of Neenah’s Committee on Aging hosted the eighth annual School for Seniors on September 26. Over 80 people attended the event, which offers senior citizens and their supporters a morning of enrichment, fellowship and learning.

This year’s event featured presentations on dementia research and care, strength exercises to increase mobility and community safety resources. Participants also had the opportunity to tour an information fair with representatives from local organizations, including the Fox Cities YMCA, Fox Valley Memory Project, Neenah Public Library and the Winnebago County Health Department. Mayor Jane Lang of Neenah welcomed attendees to the event and answered questions about local issues.

School for Seniors was developed by the Committee on Aging and Lakeland Vice President for Academic Affairs Joshua Kutney, who currently chairs the group.
