Musko’s Campus Shop celebrates grand opening

Musko’s Campus Shop hosted a successful ribbon cutting ceremony on September 9 at its new location in the Wehr Center lobby.

The campus shop is part of Launch: Lakeland Student-Run Businesses and provides LU students an opportunity to learn how to run their own business.

The ribbon cutting was done by Lakeland senior Sydney Pingitore, president of merchandising, and she was joined by members of the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce and LU Director of External Relations David Gallianetti, who shared remarks on behalf of LU President Beth Borgen.

“As you can see, Musko’s Campus Shop offers students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and all Lakeland fans great new merchandise and they have plans for more to come,” Borgen said.

“We should especially thank Sydney, the student leading this venture. Sydney and her team have done a great job of researching and putting together a business plan to ensure that Musko’s Campus Shop is successful, and we are grateful for their hard work.

“I have been impressed with the work already done in the last 17 months by the Launch team, and I look forward to the expansion of this shop as well as Launch’s other divisions and ventures as we move forward.

LU Dining Services provided burgers and brats for attendees and Musko himself made an appearance after being dormant for over a year.

“It was amazing to see all the students, faculty and staff attend this student-orientated event,” Pingitore said. “Everyone on the Launch team is ecstatic to get Musko’s Campus Shop off the ground. With new products arriving throughout the year, our customers will always have access to new selections.”
