Shuttle Services at Lakeland University

Free Rides Throughout Sheboygan County

The purpose of the Lakeland University campus shuttle is to transport students free of charge to/from communities neighboring campus in a safe and convenient way. Lakeland University, shuttles run year-round except on university observed holidays, and when campus is closed because of hazardous road conditions due to inclement weather. All shuttle riders must have their valid LU ID with them at the time of the ride to verify current student status.

Frequently Asked Questions

Students must sign up for a shuttle ride at least 48 hours in advance. This can be done at the Shuttle Desk, located in the Campus Center. There will be a sign-up sheet at the desk where students will provide the required information. Students should meet the driver at the Shuttle Desk at least 5 minutes before their departure time. Students who are late may miss their ride.

If a shuttle ride needs to be canceled, students must call or text the shuttle phones (920-838-3386 and 920-627-0882) or talk with a driver directly, at least one hour before the scheduled time.

  • Tuesday 10 a.m. – 12 a.m.
  • Wednesday 6 a.m. – 12 a.m.
  • Thursday 10 a.m. – 12 a.m.
  • Friday 6 a.m. – 12 a.m.
  • Saturday 6 a.m. – 12 a.m.
  • Sunday 6 a.m. – 12 a.m.
  • You must be a registered Lakeland University student and live on campus to use the LU Shuttle Service. All students must have a valid Lakeland University student I.D. to receive a ride.
  • There is no smoking and littering allowed in the vehicle. Anything that comes in with you must be taken out with you.
  • Please check for all personal possessions before leaving the vehicle.
  • In accordance with Lakeland University policy, operators will not allow passengers to board and disembark the shuttle unless it is at an established stop.
  • Passengers are not allowed to play music out loud without using heads phones. This is a distraction to the operators. Headphones must also be at a reasonable volume as not to disturb other passengers and/or the driver.
  • Passengers are required to be respectful and courteous to the shuttle operators and other passengers.
  • The Lakeland University Shuttle will not drop students off or pick students up from a private residence unless the trip is endorsed by the university or authorized by the Director of Shuttle Operations. There are no exceptions.
  • When a passenger is running late, shuttle operators cannot guarantee that they will be able to standby, due to accommodating schedules for other students.

Other Modes of Transportation (Airport, Amtrak, Etc.)

The Lakeland University Shuttle does not provide transportation outside of Sheboygan County. Sheboygan County does offer numerous transportation options available to students.

Listed below are forms of transportation to the Milwaukee Intermodal Station and the Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport.

For students using the Sheboygan Transit Center, the campus shuttle can transport students there. From there, please see below of those bus lines that students can make reservations to take a bus to Milwaukee, Green Bay or Chicago:
