Applying for Financial Aid at Lakeland University

Undergraduate Online & Center Locations Financial Aid Application Process

We've assembled the following steps to aid you in the process of applying for financial aid. It is recommended that the applications be completed at least six weeks prior to the start of the term to ensure the timely processing of your financial aid award.

After you've completed all the application requirements, you will receive an Award Letter. This will contain a financial aid award based on the maximum amount for which you are eligible.

The FAFSA that students will need to complete depends on what time of the year they are enrolling.

  • An FSA ID gives you access to Federal Student Aid’s online systems and can serve as your electronic legal signature on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You will need a FSA ID for you, the student, and parent if providing parent data on the FAFSA.
  • To create your own personal FSA ID, go to the Department of Education’s Federal Student Aid website at https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch.
  • Your Social Security number
  • Your parents’ Social Security numbers, if you are providing parent information
  • Your driver’s license number, if you have one
  • Your Alien Registration number, if you are not a U.S. citizen
  • Federal tax information or tax returns including IRS W-2 information, for you and your spouse, if you are married and for your parents, if you are providing parent information
  • Records of your untaxed income, such as child support received, interest income and veterans non-education benefits for you, and if married, your spouse, and parents if you are providing parent information
  • Information on cash, savings and checking account balances; investments, including real estate but not including the home in which you live; and business and farm assets for you, your spouse, if married, and for your parents, if you are providing parent information
  • Priority Date for Fall enrollment is June 15, Spring enrollment is Dec. 1 and Summer enrollment is April 20.
  • Go to studentaid.gov and select “Start a New FAFSA or LOGIN if a returning user”
  • Lakeland’s school code is: 003854
  • Log in to www.my.lakeland.edu
  • Under Quick Links, select Financial Aid Student Access [NetPartner]
  • On top of the page, choose the current award year
  • Select “Apply Online” tab to enter information and submit
  • You will receive a notification via email if additional documents are required
  • Or view required documents on NetPartner
  • You will receive an email when your offer is completed
  • Follow instructions to accept awards on NetPartner
  • If federal student loans are accepted and you are a first-time borrower, you must complete
  • loan entrance counseling and a master promissory note.

Financial Aid Eligibility

To be eligible for federal and state aid, a student needs to be:

  • A U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  • Demonstrate financial need, as determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Enrolled at least half-time (audited classes do not apply).
  • Working toward a degree at Lakeland University.
  • Making satisfactory academic progress.
  • Not be in default on any loan or owe a refund on any grant made under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, at any institution.

To be eligible for Lakeland University aid, a student needs to:

  • All of the above items required for federal aid.
  • Be accepted to Lakeland University.
