LU exercise science graduates present research in UK

Two recent graduates of Lakeland University’s exercise science program presented research recently at the 2022 International Society of Biomechanics in Sports (ISBS) Conference in Liverpool, England.

Megan Gold and Hunter Frisk, who both graduated from LU in May with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, attended the conference, held at Liverpool John Moores University.

Gold and fellow LU student Brian Biggs were finalists for the New Investigator award for the studies listed below:

  • Biggs, B. R. Frisk, H. L., M. E. Gold, M. Blankenship, and W. P. Ebben. Biomechanical analysis of tire flipping with tires of different masses and their potential specificity to sprinting. International Society of Biomechanics in Sports, 2022 Conference, Liverpool, UK, July 21-25, 2022.
  • Gold, M.E., H.L. Frisk, B.R. Biggs, M. Blankenship, and W. P. Ebben. Biomechanical analysis of acceleration ladders with varying step distances. International Society of Biomechanics in Sports, 2022 Conference, Liverpool, UK, July 21-25, 2022.

Student members of ISBS and full members who, at the time of the annual conference, have graduated with their terminal degree (master's or doctoral) within the past two years are eligible for consideration for the award. Lakeland undergraduate exercise science students took third place for this award in both 2019 and 2021.
