LU student, professor present research at Midwest SETAC meeting
Lakeland sophomore biology major Hunter Kuester and LU Professor of Biology Paul Pickhardt had their LURE program research accepted for presentation at the 29th annual meeting of the Midwest Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) on April 28-29 in Madison, Wis.
Kuester is the lead author on the research, which investigated the sublethal, demographic effects of dietary exposure of selenium and methylmercury in a freshwater herbivore. Hunter was the only undergraduate student presenting research results at this year’s conference, as all the other posters and presentations were by graduate students, post-doctoral researchers or Ph.Ds.
