Whether it’s projects you’re already doing or much-needed tasks your boss doesn’t have time for – only Lakeland lets you earn academic credit for real-time work projects.

Getting Started

Take one or more self-designed courses!

  • If you need electives
  • If you want to create a unique undergraduate area of emphasis (up to 12 credits).
  • If you want to create a unique graduate concentration (up to 9 credits).

1. Does your work project qualify for LU credits?

  • Project is approximately 40 hours or more during the term start and end dates
  • Project aligns with your Lakeland University major.

2. Complete the application

3. Student is notified of approval status.

4. Student begins the course at the start of the term

  • Student designs the course weeks 1 and 2
  • Student completes non-research based check-in discussion throughout the course -- approximately 30 minutes per week.
  • Student gives a presentation to their employer/stakeholders.
  • Student submits a portfolio documenting their work at the end of the course.

*This concentration plan must be approved in advance by the student’s academic advisor and the Dean of the J. Garland Schilcutt School of Business, Science & Technology. Cooperative Education courses may not be used to satisfy the requirements of this concentration.
