Lakeland's annual Black History Month celebration is always one of the most popular events of the year.
This year, our annual Essence of Heritage celebration will expand to Essence of the Arts, a Sheboygan community Black History Month Celebration at the Weill Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Sheboygan.
The event, which is free and open to all, is a collaborative community celebration of Black History while honoring the Essence of Artistry with a talent showcase including dance, musical selections and an educational wax museum showcase.
The event’s keynote speaker will be entrepreneur and 2003 Lakeland graduate James C. Hayes.
With the event taking place off-campus, at the Weill Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Sheboygan — we will be providing transportation for students. Please fill out the form below and someone from the Student Activities & Engagement team will be in contact with more details. If you have any questions, please contact Corey Roberson
