Love & Lust Teach-in

The presenters of the Love & Lust Teach-in will be students of the GEN 325: Love & Lust course, taught by LU Assistant Professor of Communication Aimee Burns-Boisvert.

Throughout the GEN 325 course, students examine concepts and theories related to love and lust from multiple disciplinary perspectives (e.g., communication, gender studies, psychology, cultural studies, sociology, etc.). A range of topics is explored throughout the semester, such as healthy relationship skills, relational maintenance and conflict management in order to prepare for this event.

With a focus on critical engagement and community impact, GEN 325 students plan and implement a yearly teach-in related to key love & lust topics. This year, students selected the following topics:

  • Bystander Intervention
  • Healthy Relationships
  • Toxic Relationships/Intimate Partner Violence
  • Dating Safety
  • Communicating through Conflict.
