Join Prof. Lamont Holden (TheLetterLBeats, music producer and Clinical Prof. of Audio & Recording Technologies at the University of Illinois) and Prof. Adam Kruse (Assoc. Prof. of Music Education at the University of Illinois) in this interactive webinar to learn more about Lakeland University’s Exploring Hip-Hop Music Pedagogy course offered on June 24-25, 2023.
Lamont and Adam will unpack the content in Exploring Hip-Hop Music Pedagogy and answer any questions from the live audience. Topics include an overview of Hip-Hop music and culture, sampling and beatmaking, freestyling and lyric writing, and instructing and aiding course participants in creating and performing their original music. Lamont and Adam will also discuss critical considerations for contemporary classroom practice.
Webinar participants are encouraged to interact directly with Lamont & Adam to ask questions about Exploring Hip-Hop Music Pedagogy and with Prof. Frank Gallo (Chair of the MM (Master of Music) in Music Education with Kodály Emphasis degree at Lakeland) to ask about Lakeland University’s programs or other pedagogical topics.
