Lakeland names student award winners
As the end of the academic year takes shape, Lakeland University has recognized the work of two students as part of its Outstanding Student Awards in Lakeland’s center/online programs.
Schuyler is scheduled to graduate this May with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a concentration in marketing. He transferred to Lakeland after receiving an associate degree from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. He works as a senior accounting assistant at the Oneida accounting department.
Lakeland adjunct instructor Tammy Metzke said, “I have had the pleasure of having Quinton in three of my classes at Lakeland. He is probably the most organized student I've had in the over 40 years I have been teaching. He meets with me before the class starts to organize his schedule to ensure that all assignments will be submitted on time. He has finished at the top of each of his classes academically. He also is never afraid to reach out if he has questions, which I feel is a great attribute in a student. His discussion board posts are the best I've ever seen. He does thorough research on the topic being discussed and cites all references used.”
Hoffman is scheduled to graduate this May with a master’s in counseling with a clinical mental health emphasis. She works as a clinically licensed substance use disorder counselor at Mindful Matters, LLC, in Little Chute, Wis.
Lakeland adjunct instructor Chris Jenkins said, “Morgan is an exemplary student. She is consistently active, engaged and eager to learn, contributing thoughtfully to class discussions. She offers meaningful feedback to her peers and asks insightful questions that deepen her learning and strengthen her developing counseling skills. She manages the demands of work, internship and family with impressive time‑management and clear prioritization.”
