The Lakeland University Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, designed with the working adult in mind, provides a broad-based professional education consisting of coursework that integrates research, case studies, technology, and other learning processes. Objectives include an understanding of business and economic problems, and the development of managerial skills to address these problems in the context of an ethical and global workplace. In addition to the traditional MBA degree, Lakeland offers concentrations in accounting, finance, project management, healthcare management, human resource management and a concentration in supply chain management. Lakeland also invites students to design their own concentration. This approach allows students to pursue subjects or projects that fit their current or future career path. By combining current MBA elective courses and special studies opportunities, leveraging current work or training opportunities or even pursuing courses offered elsewhere, Lakeland MBA students work with faculty to create coursework that matches their unique needs.
Lakeland University Graduate courses typically meet once per week during the evening hours or on Saturdays over 14-week semesters in fall, spring and summer. Additionally, most Lakeland graduate courses are offered in the BlendEd® format, meaning you have the option of attending class in-person or accessing your course(s) and completing your work entirely Online — thus selecting a format that meets your personal needs and fits your life schedule during any given week. Instructors are practicing professionals—many holding terminal degrees—who blend experiential learning with in-class instruction.
Course work of a “C” or better in the areas of economics, statistics, finance, and accounting preferred. If no evidence of completed course work is provided, students have the option to complete two courses at the graduate level focusing on economics/statistics and finance/accounting to meet these requirements. Students also have the option to take undergraduate courses to fulfill these requirements.
Students may transfer up to nine semester hours of graduate credit from other regionally accredited MBA programs, provided the coursework is relevant to the Lakeland University program, and that a minimum grade of “C” was earned for formal coursework actually taken. These courses must be approved by the MBA program director. Transfer courses must have been taken within 10 years prior to application to the graduate program. Transfer grades will not be included in calculating the applicant’s Lakeland GPA.
Applicants can register for one graduate course prior to being formally admitted to the program. Registration in subsequent courses is contingent upon acceptance to the program.
