Lakeland graduate Donna Wendlandt was a high school sophomore in 1966 when the Sheboygan YMCA hired her as a swim instructor.She never left. Wendlandt, now the Sheboygan County YMCA’s CEO, has been a pillar of leadership for the nonprofit organization for more than five decades.“I enjoy Sheboygan,” she said. “And the YMCA has always been very open to my ideas and leadership style, has welcomed new programming and embraced new ideas. Lakeland University exercise science students Josh Reisimer, Casey Takahashi, Dan Janeshek and Samantha Williams, along with Associate Professor of Exercise Science William Ebben, presented the studies titled, "Evaluation of lower limb asymmetry during increasingly challenging jump conditions" and "Force and power profile of plyometric box jumps" at the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Wisconsin State Clinic at Carroll University on April 8, 2017.

LU ONE, Lakeland University’s new alumni-student mentorship program, recently closed out a successful first semester with a luncheon. LU ONE (Opportunity, Network & Experience), which matches successful Lakeland graduates with current students, will return for the 2017-18 academic year. Student applications are due Sept. 15, and all rising sophomores and juniors are encouraged to apply. During the pilot launch this spring, 32 graduates were paired with 32 students. Some students toured their mentors’ workplaces, conducted practice interviews, regularly exchanged emails…
